Taking Stock -April

I love the idea of this taking stock list which I found on Pip’s blog and thought it would be a great idea to get me back into the blogging frame of mind. I have a little more time on my hands lately so hopefully I will be back out taking photos soon :-) (Mind you I was supposed to post this on Friday and ran out of time. Best laid plans and all that…..)

Early Sun

Making : a sock. But not just any sock. It is the one to match my first ever sock which was finished 6 months ago. I really need to keep up……

Cooking : yummy dinner with left over roast chicken .Cook some pasta. Meanwhile fry chopped up courgettes and mushrooms in a little olive oil. Add in the chopped up chicken. Cook for a few mins. Add pesto and crème fraiche and a spoonful of the pasta water to make a sauce. Poor over cooked pasta. Yummy.

Drinking : lots of water to balance out an awful lot of red wine.

Wanting: more sunshine (please weather gods make it sunny every day for a while). The rain today has been quite spectacular and the hairy hound was not keen on the thunder and lightning.

Looking: forward to being by the seaside at the weekend with my lovely friend Roger the Lodger and her sister.

Playing: James Blunt (saw him in concert at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday. AMAZING. What a voice.)

Wasting: less time surfing the internet which is a good thing.

Wishing: I was more decisive

Enjoying: early morning walks with my hairy bear on the common

Warm rays

Waiting: for the tips of my left hand fingers to toughen up as I start to learn the guitar

Liking: the beautiful green of the fresh new leaves on the trees.

Wondering: if I can really buy a pair of black and orange shoes from Next or if they are way too outrageous for me.

Loving: my new kindle. When you have serious problems sleeping it is your friend.

Hoping: that my friend’s poorly horse keeps getting better. It is a terrible time for her.

Marvelling: at how the hairy hound can find the muddiest, stinkiest puddle to become swamp dog every single morning!

Needing: to find more time for my crochet and knitting.

Smelling: lavender hand cream

Wearing: my favourite high heeled boots

Following: (well will be following shortly!) a running plan to get down to a sub 1.50 half marathon.

Noticing: that I have completely missed spring this year which makes me sad as it is my favourite time of year.

Sunrise over the pond

Knowing: that I am so lucky to have such a completely wonderful circle of friends.

Thinking: That I must get out with my camera and get my blogging mojo back.

Feeling: like life is passing me by too quickly and that I need to grab opportunities and run with them.

Bookmarking: new websites full of easy guitar videos of all my favourite songs. I can’t wait to be able to play them.

Opening: an envelope with tickets to Badminton horse trials

Giggling: at my new mug “If at first you don’t succeed, have a very large gin & tonic”. Ahem…and no mentioning my mug addiction now.
