A couple of weekends ago I was lucky enough to be a guest at the wedding of some old friends. It was a really special day and to be honest I didn’t take a huge amount of photos as I was too busy enjoying myself. But I would like to share with you the few that I did take.
The reception was held at a place called Bury Court just outside Bentley in Hampshire. It was originally a hop farm, then a plant nursery and now you can hire the barn for a special occasion.
As you can see the barn is stunning but not only that. It is also surrounded by the original buildings and a truly breathtaking garden that you can wander round while nibbling your canapes
The garden was designed by the owner together with Piet Oudolf, a famous Dutch garden designer. The website has much better photos if you would like to see more.
The other floral delights were the table decorations. A perfect mix of pretty cottage and wild flowers in shades of pink, purple and green. (I kept thinking how nice they would look in a wee crochet cushion or blanket )
The whole day was just wonderful from start to finish. Needless to say I danced my socks off to the band in the evening and could barely walk the next day!! Surely the sign of a cracking day
